Leneiva Head on what makes her firm’s website stand out

A Nashville native, Leneiva Head has been helping clients in the Greater Nashville area buy and sell properties for more than a decade, much of that time through her own real estate firm, Welcome Home Realty. Welcome Home boasts a wide breadth of services, including property management, residential sales and leasing for luxury properties, foreclosures and short-sales, and commercial sales and leasing for individual office suites and full buildings.

All of those services are readily available through Welcome Home’s website, welcomehomerealty-tn.com, which Head says she designed herself using a website builder for realtors called Websitebox. We spoke with head to learn how she crafted her website to be an effective tool and attractive face for Welcome Home Realty.

Who designed your website?

I used a template created by Websitebox, but the template just provides a generic layout. I actually handled all of the design, images, data and details myself.

What is the main goal of your website?

The main goal is to share information with prospective clients about who we are and to streamline the home-search process, which is our primary focus with everything we do.

Why do you think your website stands out from the pack?

My website is very customer-focused and user-friendly. A lot of other real estate websites are heavy on text, and most of that will go unread more often than not. Any text used on my website is deliberate and brief. A lot of websites will also lean heavily toward the needs of buyers, but my website is evenly balanced to service buyers and sellers alike.

Why is it important to have a quality website in the real estate industry?

Your website is often your first impression. Since most searches begin online, before a prospective client reaches out to you, they will most likely Google you. Will they be inspired to contact you?

What is the most important feature of your website?

The ability for buyers and sellers to quickly and easily access everything they need to assist them with searches, valuations and navigating the entire buying or selling process.

What tips do you have for beginners creating a real estate website?

Determine your budget. Determine who you want to deliver your message to. Determine what message you want to convey. If you’re unable to build your own website, research the various website providers and see which one best fits your needs. And ensure that your website is customer focused.

How do you promote your website?

I put my web address on emails, texts, business cards, ads — everything. The website also has SEO designed to ensure visibility.

What is the biggest challenge you faced when creating your website?

Having a strong website is extremely important, so building the site was time well spent, but it was very time-consuming. I chose to work on it at night so it didn’t reduce my availability to clients, agents and staff members. So ultimately the biggest challenge was getting enough rest!
